The apartment is half of a duplex in South Park Historic District, near Downtown Dayton. I live in the upstairs unit and rent out the downstairs. It's 1,150 square feet and the rent is $500 a month, which includes gas/heat and water/trash. I can lower the rent to $475 if you'd like to mow the lawn. The security deposit is $500. Pros

Cons

  • No garage. There are two spaces in the back that are off the street, though.
  • I'm not very good at keeping up with mowing the lawn, but I can lower the rent to $475 if you'd like to mow it.
  • There is a certain amount of petty crime that is typical of anywhere in Dayton, but South Park has an active neighborhood association that does patrols, communicates with the police department, sends out alerts, etc, and the house has a monitored security system installed.
  • No dishwasher. There is room in the kitchen for a portable one, though.

  • Pets allowed on a case by case basis. They must be housebroken, spayed/neutered and have all of their shots current.
